The Dell Inspiron 15R comes with a larger chassis than its predecessor, 14R. Surprisingly, it also heavier than MacBook Pro 15-inch but still can be used for traveling without having to burden you a lot. Total weight for the laptop and the AC adapter would be 6.4 pounds.
The 15R features full size keyboard which is highly responsive and a large comfortable touchpad to work with. The 15.6-inch display screen sporting 1366×768 maximum pixel resolution which support 720p HD video and bright LED backlit screen. The speakers are decent for a standard laptops, so if you want to have better sound you’d better equip yourself with a headphones.
For price under $800, Dell Inspiron 15R comes with many features to begin with, including USB 2.0 ports, eSATA/USB 2.0 combo port, HDMI, VGA, headphone/mic jack, multimedia card reader. Networking is also supported by ethernet port, Wi-Fi connectivity, bluetooth, 4G WiMAX broadband, and also Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) technology to send HDMI audio/video signal to HDTV without cables.
However, Dell Inspiron 15R doesn’t come with the latest USB 3.0 port. Storage is provided with a 750GB HDD and preloaded with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
Dell Inspiron 15R is a good laptop to choose because it has good Core i5 performance, many features, blue ray drive but only integrated graphics and standard battery life.
